PURTI WAKANKAR

Art has always been an integral part of my life – whether it was finger painting as a child or studying art and design, I have always been drawn to my creative side.
Inspired by architectural elements, textiles and nature, my initial work was monochromatic and geometric. However, my love for playing with colour gradually found its way into my pieces through floral elements. That juxtaposed with my intricate pen-work has evolved into my own unique style and expression.

After a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion from NIFT, New Delhi, a Master’s Degree in Business Design (Cum Laude) from Domus Academy, Milan and a short-lived career as a Strategic Planner in Advertising, I knew my calling was elsewhere.
In 2018, I took the decision to make my passion my full-time career and there has been no looking back. While the path I have chosen has not been an easy one, it was in devoting myself to my art that I grew into an artist. Everyday is a new adventure as I look to excitedly conceive new ideas and make them a reality.
